You’ve heard about the ‘entourage effect,’ right?

If not no worries! Basically the4 entourage effect demonstrates the way that certain components like  terpenes in cannabis can work much better when they are working together in harmony then when they are absorbed individually. For example in an orchestra, a violin or single cello could produce amazing sound and bring harmony, but putting together the violin with the cello, viola, and other base instruments you get a world of sound and can feel the music as it glides through your body. This is the entourage effect.

That’s the genius of hemp

There is an idea that it would be better to find the main ingredient take it and then pump the body full of that specific molecule. So why send in the whole army with artillery when you can just parachute a couple guys to get the job done. To use the technology we have today and use it to shrink the elements down to nano size. We can bypass the stomach and any other organs that may take away from the potency that way the  pure CBD can isolate itself within your bloodstream and can start getting to work on providing your body with everything it needs.

Sometimes less is more

As explained in a post at Project CBD:

“But single-molecule CBD is less effective therapeutically than whole plant CBD-rich oil extract. Scientific studies have established that synthetic, single-molecule CBD has a very narrow therapeutic window and requires precise, high doses for efficacy, whereas lower dose, whole-plant, CBD-rich treatment regimens are already showing efficacy for many conditions among patients in medical marijuana States…

There is also another example from the TodaysDietitian.com:

“Increasing the bioavailability of nutrients and phytochemicals may be promising but is also potentially dangerous.” Mark Meskin, PhD, RD, FADA, professor emeritus of the Department of Human Nutrition & Food Science at the California State Polytechnic University in Pomona, says “nanotechnology may solve absorption and solubility problems with many nutrients and phytochemicals.” But he notes that this is a clear example of “technology getting well ahead of the science.”

While many were happy with the fast absorption rate many turned their concern to the toxicity. Meskins went on to quote, “

“In the past, I was less concerned about phytochemical toxicity because the truth was that in many cases, very little was absorbed,”Nanotechnology raises important issues regarding safety. He explains “nanoceuticals can help bypass typical protective barriers in the body and deliver quantities of biochemicals that the body would not naturally encounter. This makes the introduction of nanoceuticals potentially dangerous, especially when the government does not regulate them effectively.”

Educate yourself about whole-plant hemp oil and pay attention.

Even though we have been studying hemp and cannabis for over 20 years we are still finding out the basics everyday like for example we all have a endocannabinoid system that’s been embedded within us and can be influenced by CBD or hemp products. The research is continuing and we’ve been able to learn so much about the benefit that it can provide to use.

That’s why we believe here at Elixinol that using the whole plant can have a better Entourage effect on the human body.

Respira from Elixinol is made from organically grown hemp plants, and cold-processed using co2 supercritical fluid extraction. It’s PG- and PEG-free, and a THC-free, whole-plant product.  Try it today!
